Your infrastructure stays yours.

Who we are
DevOps is a product of Open Interface Engineering, Inc., a Delaware B-Corp headquartered in Sarasota, Florida. This privacy policy applies to the DevOps IDE, the devops-lang.dev website, and related services.
What we collect
DevOps is designed to be local-first. The following data principles apply:
- Your infrastructure files (Terraform, Kubernetes manifests, Dockerfiles, Ansible playbooks) are never sent to our servers. All parsing, graph analysis, and energy metering run locally.
- Cascade levels L0-L2 operate entirely offline with zero network access.
- Cascade levels L3+ (LLM queries) send only the query context you explicitly approve. No infrastructure files or secrets are sent without your action.
- Energy receipts are stored locally. If you opt in to anonymous aggregate reporting, only summary statistics (total energy, format types, pipeline stage counts) are shared.
- Secret detection runs entirely locally. Detected secrets never leave your machine.
- Website analytics: We use privacy-respecting, cookie-free analytics. No personal data is collected from website visitors.
What we do not collect
- Infrastructure files, secrets, or credentials
- Cloud provider API keys or tokens
- File names or directory structures
- Keystrokes or editor interactions
- Personal identifying information (unless you create an account)
- Third-party tracking cookies
Account data
If you create a DevOps account (for collaboration, GitOps sync, or cloud features), we store your email address and a cryptographic authentication token. Passwords are never stored in plain text. Account data is encrypted at rest and in transit.
Data retention
Local data is under your control. You can delete all DevOps data at any time by running devops reset --all. Account data is retained until you delete your account. If opt-in analytics are enabled, aggregate data is retained for 12 months and then deleted.
Third-party services
When you use L3+ cascade queries, your query (not your infrastructure files) may be processed by a language model provider. DevOps displays which provider will be used before you confirm. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
